About Us
Project Background
The goal of the project is to contribute to improved, inclusive, nutritious and sustainable livelihoods of communities dependent on small fish in Lake Victoria. Its development objective is to reduce food losses, improve incomes and nutrition from small fish systems.Lake Victoria Small Fish Project: Promoting Sustainable Technologies and Marketing Strategies to Increase Incomes and Reduce Food Losses in Small Fish Systems (LVSF) project. The LVSF project is a three years project (February 2022 to March 2025) funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The total budget is USD 2M. The project is implemented in Lake Victoria Riparian States of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, coordinated by the Lake Victoria Fisheries Organization (LVFO) at regional level.
- Promote green technologies for fishing, fish processing and preservation to ensure sustainable resources, environmental safety and improved livelihoods

- Generate and disseminate knowledge for sustainable small fish system and policy
